Detailed Summary[]

In the book Artemis Fowl, Artemis Fowl is a genius mastermind with an IQ of over 200. He travels with Butler, his bodyguard, to Ho Chi Minh city to track down a drunk sprite, a type of fairy. Artemis then offers to heal the sprite for 30 minutes of the book, the holy book of faries written in Gnommish which contains the rules that must abide by on how fairy's must act. He then returns to Fowl Manor, the home of Fowls for many centuries where he then cracks the fairy language, which is similar to ancient Egyptian and reads from the middle and spirals out, and hatches a plan to kidnap a fairy to hold ransom for gold that costs millions and billions of dollars. He camps at a fairy site, which consists of a winding river and an ancient oak tree, that are used to restore a fairy's power at a full moon. He ends up kidnapping Captain Holly Short of LEPrecon, A unit of the LEP, the LEPrecon's job is to recover rouge faries on the surface. Holly's assignment before completing the ritual was to bring back a rouge troll in Italy.
